This symposium is an assembly of five authors who have come together to explore and share arts integrated research as a way to create innovative conceptions; nurture deeper research insight, interpretation, meaning-making and creative expression, and acknowledge alternative ways of knowing. The aim of this symposium is to explore the use of arts integration with vulnerable populations and its capacity to integrate and amplify community voices in creative ways. The authors share their work through a unique interdisciplinary lens that is complex, involving and often nuancing the personal, political, social, cultural, and cognitive processes at play for whole human beings.
