Intersections of theory and practice: A fireside chat with student affairs scholars, teachers, and practitioners

This conversation will focus on the intersection of theory and practice, teaching, and learning, among student affairs practitioners (SAP), scholars, and teachers in student affairs programs. The majority of student affairs literature that informs the field is U.S. based. We will begin with a discussion of how we use the literature that is not based in Canada and what the field looks like for us in Canada. In this fireside chat participants will have the opportunity to discuss theories, pedagogy, and practice that supports the field, each other, and students. This chat will be in a hybrid format for those who cannot attend. This initial national discussion will inform plans to continue this important topic for the field including an informal gathering at CACUSS in Halifax.
